Survey Design

Surveys should ask questions that people want to answer; issues and choices that are familiar and important.

We get good results because we only do surveys once we know audiences’ concerns.

Comparisons within the survey give the clear answers about patterns of relationship that clients are seeking. Not just a simple per cent for each question.

Coppice measures audience activities, everyday behaviour and use. We ask about people’s views, expressed in their own words. Predefined ‘attitudes’ or ‘opinions’ are not the focus of our work. Even with surveys, we are seeking to understand  participants’ own ways of thinking.
